Dr. John Orchard grew up in South San Francisco and graduated from Stanford University. He played varsity baseball and worked for the Stanford Fire Department in addition to his academic studies.

He served overseas in the U.S. Military, received his DDS degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry, and opened his dentistry practice in Santa Maria, California. He was one of the first dentists in the United States to use and give national lectures on new dental restoration materials and techniques. This new technology opened the era of cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Orchard spends hundreds of hours each year working with new technologies at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). He has fine-tuned his skills in cosmetic dentistry, occlusion, and the treatment of TMJ problems. He brings those dental skills to Santa Maria and the Central Coast.

A key requirement for a long-lasting smile and facial comfort is facial muscle balance. The best veneers in the world will not last without a precise fit when the jaws close. Dr. Orchard has a strong commitment to neuromuscular dentistry and new technologies that improve jaw function. It is time consuming work, but offering you the best is important.

Dr. Orchard is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. He is Past-President of the Central Coast Dental Society. He is married to a native of Santa Maria, and enjoys golf, fitness exercise, and fishing.

Insurance. We work with most insurance companies. However we make recommendations based on what is best for you, regardless of the insurance company’s “management”. We accept Master Card, Visa, Discovery and American Express.

We also offer outside financing through Dental Fee Plan (DFP) and Care Credit. They are convenient, no initial payment, low monthly payment plans for dental care. Offering these plans allows us to make the exceptional smile you’ve always wanted affordable.
